This policy applies to spell-links.com, spell-links.com, and the SPELL-Links WordUP! app. Our websites are for adults and our apps are directed at adults or children with adult supervision. What Kind of Information is Collected?
There are two types of data that websites and apps can collect about their users. The first one is called personal data. This is Personally Identifiable Information that identifies a user as an individual. Our websites and apps do not collect any information from children unless you voluntarily enter and send us that information. The use of our websites and apps is voluntary and you always have the option to de-identify data collected from children before sending it to us. We recommend de-identification of all data collected from children as a standard practice and security measure. There are no push notifications in our apps and we do not collect geolocation information. We may collect personal information that educators, parents, and other adults voluntarily provide on our websites, such as when requesting product samples and other types of information, subscribing to mailing lists and online services, and purchasing books, software, apps, or other materials or services from our website.
The second type of data that websites and apps can collect is non-personal data which doesn’t directly identify an individual. Language Literacy Link’d, LLC may collect non-personal information about the use of the websites and apps to help us improve our services. This may include traffic data and analytics, cookies, and similar technologies. These data are used to gather general statistics about our customers and visitors. We may use non-personal information to generate collective information about our users, but not in a way that identifies any user specifically. Parents: Language Literacy Link’d, LLC does not seek personal information from children. If a parent posts personal information about themselves or their children in a community forum, such as SPELL-Link’d, or on a social media site such as Facebook or LinkedIn, in addition to being collected, this data is made public for others to see. The parent is responsible for disclosing this data. If you choose to share information in our publicly accessible interactive forums, including SPELL-Link’d and other social media sites, or send us letters, pictures, or stories regarding your child’s success with Language Literacy Link’d, LLC products and services, we may share this information on our websites, via our social media platforms, and/or in our professional development courses for marketing and training purposes. If we reshare a photo or video of your child, we will share first name only. Because we value your privacy, and the privacy of your children, we will keep any other information you provide confidential, unless we have your express permission for use.
Professionals: Language Literacy Link’d, LLC does not seek personal information from children. If a professional posts personal information about themselves or information about their students in a community forum such as SPELL-Link’d or on a social media site such as Facebook or LinkedIn, in addition to being collected, this data is made public for others to see. The professional is responsible for disclosing this data and is responsible for adhering to professional code of ethics, HIPPA laws, and the like. If you choose to share information in our publicly accessible interactive forum, including SPELL-Link’d, and other social media sites, or choose to send us letters, pictures or stories regarding your students’ success with Language Literacy Link’d, LLC products and services, we may share this information on our websites, via our social media platforms, and/or in our professional development courses for marketing and training purposes. However, because we value the privacy of all children, we will not share information about a child if it includes the child’s face or any other information that personally identifies the child.
Student Data and Student Work
Our websites do not collect any information from children unless you enter and send us that information. The use of our websites is voluntary, and you always have the option to de-identify data collected from children before sending it to us. We recommend de-identification of all data collected from children as a standard practice and security measure.
We do not collect and store any personal information when children and others use our WordUP! app.
Surveys, Contests, and Prizes
We may provide you the opportunity to participate in surveys, on our site or through a 3rd party technology provider (e.g., Survey Monkey), to measure customer needs and satisfaction. If you participate, we may request certain personally identifiable information from you. Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information. The requested information typically includes name, email address, work setting, professional title. We do not sell the information that you provide us to any third parties.
We may provide you the opportunity to participate in contests and other promotional activities that offer the opportunity to win a prize with no purchase required. If you participate, we may request certain Personally Identifiable Information from you. Participation in these contests and other activities is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information. The requested information typically includes name and email address, work setting, professional title, and phone number. We use this information to notify you if you win and to deliver your prize to you, to monitor site traffic or personalize the site, and/or to send participants emails with news, special offers, discounts and more. If you win a prize, we may request your permission to publicly announce your name, professional title, and work setting as a winner but will not share any other personal data with our customers. Text Messaging Privacy Policy
Data Sharing
• Customer data is not shared with 3rd parties for promotional or marketing purposes.
• Mobile opt-in and consent are never shared with anyone for any purpose. Any information sharing that may be mentioned elsewhere in this policy excludes mobile opt-in data.
Messaging Program Terms and Conditions
1. The messaging program consists of general customer care messaging to answer questions and provide support to customers. Messages will be sent from (847) 598-1484.
2. You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text ‘STOP’ to the phone number from which you received messages. After you send the SMS message ‘STOP’ to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to join again, just sign up as you did the first time and we will start sending SMS messages to you again.
3. If you are experiencing issues with the messaging program you can reply with the keyword HELP for more assistance, or you can get help directly at spell-links@learningbydesign.com.
4. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
5. As always, message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. Message frequency will vary based on communication needs. If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, it is best to contact your wireless provider.
